THE BIG PINK WIN NME AWARD + PERFORM WITH LILY ALLEN + AUSTRALIAN TOUR KICKS OFF TOMORROW! This is not just another tour presser - our UK RHUM guys do nothing but rant about how awesome these guys are live. And we really don't want our Aussie readers missing out, please listen up NOW! The excitement for them has not quite caught on over here for you know how commercially inclined our lame mainstream media is. And since they don't sound a touch on Powderfinger... So just before hopping on the plane to Australia, The Big Pink performed at the NME Awards and took out the prize for Best Track with their 2009 anthem DOMINOES. On the dodgy camera phone Youtube vid below, you'll see them teamed up with Lily Allen mashing up a version of Dominoes/ You're So Vain. Watch this messed up yet electric video below. Warning though, it's a majorly shit recording, so if you are easily nauseous don't bother, check the other one out instead.The Big Pink's debut Australian tour kicks off TOMORROW in Perth! Then Melbourne, Then Golden Plains, Then Sydney, then bam! They'll be gone! And when they come back, no doubt indeed commercial radio will have caught on, copied the alternative enthusiasm and we promise getting your hands on tickets won't be so easy. Cynical, me? Ha! My glass it is half full! Oh, wait up... now it is. And that's just how it goes - there's just no accounting for taste in Australia. We know this. You dig listening to it live. So get a ticket and go to see the Big Pink Live. It's a no-brainer. Yet there are still tickets. This makes no sense, for even stupid people should know this gig will be magnificent. Beg, borrow, steal and get a ticket - it's one of those gigs. I said no to tickets because I'm out of town but since watching this clip I've been on webjet booking a flight to Melbourne from Byron for Thursday - and it's not even a quality recording! It just has to be done.
